I was born and raised in central Pennsylvania, where I attended Christian school from kindergarten through fourth grade, followed by public school from fifth through twelfth. Throughout these years, I lived and breathed horses and spent countless hours at the barn with my two older sisters and our three horses. We soaked up the barn life and enjoyed every aspect of it. I eventually joined by local 4-H club and showed my horses at the county, district, and state levels, enjoying the challenges and fun times that came with competition.

After high school, I attended college, where I majored in English Education and also joined the equestrian team. My high school English teachers in particular had a positive impact on me, and because of my passion for the subject, I knew I wanted to become an English teacher. I hoped to inspire students the same way my teachers had inspired me.

I went on to teach high school English at a public school for sixteen years; I adored my students and took great joy in sharing my passion for both writing and literature with them. For ten of those years, I co-advised the high school's yearbook program and absolutely loved it. Each publication cycle was a fulfilling experience; I had the opportunity to build relationships with students in a creative environment where we had shared visions. We had many brainstorming sessions, pizza nights, and editing parties.

In 2023, it was an easy yet extremely difficult decision to step away from teaching to stay home with my newborn son. My son is the light of my life, and becoming a mother has been my greatest joy. Eventually, I returned to the classroom on occasion as a substitute teacher in my local district and enjoyed getting back into public education.

Currently, I'm cherishing my time at home with my toddler as I'm discovering just how fast time with him is passing. My interests include spending time with my husband and my son, listening to audiobooks (particularly historical fiction), baking pies, visiting national parks, working in the flowerbeds, cuddling my cats, and playing the piano on my church's worship team.
